HELLO ,
i'm happy to find this site! i've got away from dirt riding for awhile (10 years ) and my freinds got me back in again, it started as just pit riding so i picked up a 1983 kdx200 for around $500.00 , however it very quickly got to be way to slow were these guys are riding new crf230, 450f and rm250. as the places to ride dwindle around here in new england we found ourselfs at tracks suchs as http://uxbridgemxpark.com.(check out there site, its has some cool videos) the kdx just wasn't up to the task. so started the search for something bigger and newer, and there it was like it was ment to be my 1989 kx500.
                           so it begins again
                           thanks 89kx500

Welcome to the site 89KX500!

Green is good and it sounds like you already upgraded in bore size but stayed green! Me, I'll stick with my KX250, I think a 5 hunny would be a tad overkill seeing as I'm height impaired, muscularature impaired, and they take big huevos...of which I've got none!

This time, I bet you don't stray from dirtbikes again! Welcome again! 8)

thanks fastkx500,
i'm not sure which bike was yours though, i loaded two pics of mine on page 5 in the gallery, look for the black panels, your right, they can be picked up cheap, i paid $ 900.00 for this one one week ago, all i've done was trans fluid change and brake pads, i rode it all day today over in coventry Rhode Island and besides starting it, had a blast

Hi YA 89KX500,

This is a great place!  I've already learned a lot, not to mention these guys helping me out.  I'm new to Green Bikes as I just got a KX250.  I've had every other color and now finally on green to match my snowmobiles.  I'll be turning this KX into a woods bike over the winter.  Gonna be getting HS and Enduros started up here in the frozen tundra.

It appears that I have finally lost my mind.  I was looking for a thread the other day and Mike here at PitBull finally found it for me.  It seems it was left in my fanny pack.  He's pretty sure that I left my mind in my engine when I was reassembling it and I'm not spliting the cases again to retrieve it!  With all of that said I promised myself a 500 2 smoke when I lost my mind so I think a KX500 is in my future!!

Welcome aboard!  You'll find this a pretty cool place!

Dan
