Hi From Colorado
« on: October 17, 2011, 11:31:59 AM »
Hello,

I'm glad to be a part of this fourm! I'm From Leadville, CO and I'm currently in search of a KX500 to do a PF conversion with.
I've noticed the KXs are really getting hard to find these days compaired to the CRs. I've been part of the 500cc two stroke world for the last 10 years. I have a ton of CR500 knowledge because thats what I've been into forever. This is a great forum and I look forward to learning about the Kawasaki line as I go along. I have been hunting for a nice '04+ KX250 and a newer KX500 to combine. I've built an aluminum framed 500 before and it was a fun project, but I like the PF Kawasakis better.

I also like to buy, restore then sell 125s as a side hobby. The little 125s can be a real money maker if you catch a good deal. Last year I bought a 2001 CR125 with almost new everything from a mother who was mad at her son... :-D I was able to get it for $600.00! Two weeks later I gave it a tidy up with new grips, tires etc... and sold it for $1800.00. I like little projects that turn out like that.

Looking forward to chatting with some good folks here!

Howdee!
I rode Mosquito Pass one year, liked it a lot.
But part of it was still snow (ran alongside bike, first one through that year), going downhill, so I wasn't coming back that way to my tow rig.
I was sure there were other routes back, but didn't know where they were, so I switched to the large countershaft sprocket I carried with me and rode all the way up to I70 and back down to Leadville to my trailer.
So...where are the good return routes? Or are they a secret?

Hello Leadville,

I have a place in Durango and hope to make it up to Leadville one day soon.  Only am there part time, rest of the time in Los Angeles, quite a contrast.

Looking forward to many miles of great riding in Colorado.
