hi from England!
« on: October 28, 2011, 02:34:12 AM »
Hi everyone, just wanted to introduce myself and my bike. me and my dad have just finished restoring a 1987/1989 kx500 and made it road legal. it had been both stressful and fun and now its done.
we have found some performance issues that ill be posting about soon. we are in the UK in England (kent to be precise)
my only question at the moment is does anyone know where we can buy performance/standard parts for the bike in the UK? any websites would be very helpful.

also how do i post pictures? haha

take care

It's an official 87 but with some 89 parts on. I would love to post some pictures but I don't know how haha. What year is yours? Also where do you get your parts from?  :-D

to post pics. when you reply/post you get a white text box, just below the bottom left corner there is 'additional options' click it, then click 'choose file' . you then get a window pop up. find the pic that you saved earlier and double click it. and click post. easy
my bike is an 02 kx 250 with an 89-04 engine, live liecestershire. i get my parts for ebay, uk breakers, kawasaki main dealers and the U.S. what parts were you looking for

thanks for all the suggestions. i wasnt looking for any part in particular but we were thinking about getting a performance exhaust and some v force reeds. the bike is pretty standard at the moment, we re-sprayed the exhaust and some plastics and put new plastics on

looking good, and I spy me a zx7 too.most of us brits use fleabay for stuff,(set to worldwide search) as it is often cheaper to buy abroad and ship here.(crap eh?) as for pipes, any 88-04 pipe will fit your 87, again, ebay is your friend.there are low end power and top end power pipes so after you have decided which you want, shout up and we'll help you get the right one.I live in nottinghamshire.corby kwak are on 01536 401010 I think, for any genuine stuff you cant find on the 'bay.good to have you with us, K.
And lo, I did loft the front wheel and carried it forth to the unbelievers, and cast it down before them and said unto them ''look now upon the might of my throttle control ye pitiful cretinous ones''
And the unbelievers did quake in their boots....
