Front pipe mount 89-04 KX500 - should it be used?

 Does the front pipe mount on the front shift-side downtube cause more cracks if used? I have a Doma pipe that does not have a bracket in this location ... wondering if I should run it like that or weld on a bracket?  Thanks, Joe.

Its fine, my Spes is exactly the same.  just make sure you have a good set of springs hooked to it.
