Axel/swing-arm insert replacement.

Hi guys, has anyone ever tried to replace the steel inserts in the cases where the swing-arm bolt goes through? I've got a K5 that had been used in a steel frame conversion running a 18mm swing-arm bolt. I'm wanting to use this engine but my swing-arm is 17mm.

My plan is to "shrink" the current steel inserts and replace them.

Has anyone done this before?
