I kept telling them that some other bike would have to have the same size gas cap as the 02 k5 I mean how sick would that be to have a different sized cap on everything so crossing them off list now.

They only have 4 strokes and couldn't even line me up with crush washers for the pipe :(

Thanks for the info much appreciated I've been out of this for way too long I feel like a fish.

Find another dealer. If this is the help you got with a simple gas cap question,  I CRINGE  :?  at the thought of what you would have gotten for an answer if you had a more technical KX engine question... unfortunately there is good dealers, and bad ones. I had the privelage of working for a succesfull Kawi/Suz/Yam dealer back in the late 90's.  I had the clear advantage of deep dirt and snowmobile experience which made my job answering questions very fact based and fun helping people. If I did not know the answer to a customers question, I simply said "I can't answer that, let me find you someone that can. Customers DON'T like to be BS'ed....

I asked them for jets today and they said they did not have anything for my bike so I said it's a kehein carb so do you have anything for a 39mm kehein and they hym hawed around and rolled the ole eyes and me and broght out a jet kit for that very same carb.

I said look man I don't want you to hurt yourself or anything I'm not trying to wear anyone out at work this early but I'm a good customer to have around I spend a lot of money on bike parts OEM and aftermarket not to mention oil/lubes you name it and they said 2 strokes died a long time ago that I'm a fossil and I asked him how it would feel to tell his pals a fossil kicked his ass so I ordered a few other parts from him after he was much more receptive and they should be in next wednesday.

This bike was jetted way too fat and I'll upload a few pics of the bike in a little while it started pouring right after the bike was unloaded :( what are the odds?

Here is an awesome website that you can physically identify your needed jet and purchase . I have like 4 different carbs, and PJ has jets for every carb ever made !

Thanks for the short cut and in a very small and rural farming community like mine you would expect a little better service to be honest but that's why dealerships are biting the dust one after another with the internet so handy they are cutting their own throats.

Here is my new bike and I cleaned the air filter and went down from a 168 to a 165 changed the oil and drained the fuel that was in it and put 94 octaine and amsoil at 32 to 1 and changed spark plug and it's the perfect color like chocolate milk and the throttle response is instant with just a pipe and silencer on it for performance mods so it's basically a stock bike and I'm quite happy with the throttle response and pull through 4th and 5th all the way to topped out a very fun bike.

Entire album so I don't eat too much bandwidth and the bike has all new ufo plastic except the gas tank so that's why the tank is a little different color than the rest of the bike but that will be fixed soon after the suspension is reworked with the best stuff available.
