Hi all, have been lurking for a while and finally joined up.

I am starting a KX500AF project so really wanted to be able to lean on the advice and skills I have seen in the KX500 AF section. The base platform will be a 2008 kxf250, I'm still trying to find a donor motor here in New Zealand, everyone wants moonbeams for their K5's so may need to get one from overseas.

I also have a '06 KX250f with a 290 Athena kit in it, this has been converted for cross country use and is nearly everything I want, just needs an electric leg.

My road pleasures is looked after by a '08 ZX6, this has been tweaked with a Kawasaki race ecu, air filter and a full race system exhaust by Akrapovic, it sounds and runs mint!

Sounds like you have the AF fever too. I ordered one from service Honda, they also use the 250f frame. Light weight, ton of horsepower. Doesn't get much better than that. Good luck with the project. Welcome aboard, I'm pretty new myself. I also satisfy me street side with a zx. Got a 09 ZX10R. Sic bike, just about need a pilots liscense. Safe riding!

          Congrats on the bike and welcome :) I like the look of the AF and the fact that so many parts are available for a more modern chassis but I'm married lol and she wouldn't ever go for me spending the $ but if I ever want to go single I know what to do :)

Just an old guy that enjoys going fast, I was in the army for 6 years and bought my first K5 when I returned from basic training. I raced a yz60 from age 6 to 8  a kx80 from 8 to 12  a kx125 from 12-17 intermediate class on k5 which I've owned 3.

It's easier to ask for foreignness than permission. I'm married too and my wife currently thinks the bike I'm stripping down is my normal 250f, she can't tell the difference between a 2006 and a 2008 luckily for me.
