Stator cover the same for all years?

I'm trying to find an aftermarket stator cover are all years kx500 the same? I have a 1986.

I looked up a few different part numbers say 1986 and 1999 there are two diff part numbers and the older one is about $50 more! Anyone know if you can bolt a newer stator cover on an 86'?

Ill walk out and see if my 87 will fit my later motor...   

I know the color changed from black to silver... (that would be a part number change)
