1st post!
« on: March 12, 2011, 11:29:42 AM »
Hi all,
I've been a member almost a year.I've used the site on occasion to research the KX500 I have a 2003 in near mint condition to go along with 3 other Big Bore 2-strokes I own.
I race MX mostly with an occasional Hare-Scramble.I don't do very much trail riding although I used to.Some years I race every weekend other years not so much.
I work construction "Bridge Painter" and work lots of weekends I try to get them off when I can to race.I have a small supercross style track at my house on about 3 acres to ride and practice on.Lots of jumps and whoops! The cost of practice tracks and shortage of time prompted me to build the track 6 years ago and it is now set up well for A thru C lass riders.
I hope to take the KX500 out and run a few races this year. I also race my other bikes all have different personalities,All are fast!
Being my first post It will be a while before I can show all of you the pics!
I've seen many interesting tips and tricks here and did the 92 KX250 rear fender mod to my bike LOOKS GREAT!
thanks to "FuriouSly" for the well documented article.Took me about an hour!

I'll add what I can when I can and invite anyone to OHIO for the annual "Vintage Days". This year Kawasaki is the featured brand and I expect to see lots of very cool Kawasai's there!

Hey T.J. ,
Glad to have you join the forum, I'm from a small town in OH-10 myself.  Peninsula is about 16 mi. outside of Akron.
Balancing work & play can be difficult, for some reason employers just don't get that giving a guy some time off to ride increases productivity.  Well,...it sounds good anyway...

Thanks guy's!
Yea racing can be tough on body and employment.I have to be careful and limit myself on occasion. I am a Vet rider and I'm well past the days of dreaming of glory!
My racing is for the benefit of my ego and the thrills of participating in a sport of any kind!

There are not many adreline sports for 50+ guys!

TJ,

I too am in Ohio, which part are you in?  I had been not too far from you Tuck, just south near a town called Dover.  I now am down just west of Columbus and really dont know where to ride down here.  I still get back home alot to ride though so thats where the majority of my riding is.
