swingarm.powdercoat or polish??

We were thinking about Powdercoating a frame but the local race guru said that when they heat up the frame to apply the powdercoat it warps them around. So now we are re-thinking the whole thing. The racer was referring to a wheel bar custom made for a race sled so I don't know if it applies to bike frames.

I've had a couple of Sportster frames powder coated and they've both done just fine.  The finish is touch as nails.
