Might be if it wasn't for bloody motorcycles! Hubs are made by a local company to me, Talon Engineering. Tank made by GMX, who are also making the radiators.
Subframe is AC.
Really lucky with the Shock, came from a local ex rider who had it in his shed since 1990!

Its being built to be raced, hope to race at the Vets des nations at Farliegh Castle in Sept. Spend most of my time on Tarmac, Roadracing these days but looking forward to getting out on this!
Not sure how far to go with the Motor, all sound, usual 3rd gear wear so will renew those, bore looks good, no play in big end. Tempted to just renew the worn gears, new piston, new mains and seals, and maybe a con rod. Going to leave the motor pretty standard but have a procircuit exhaust to fit.
Is there anything else I should be looking at Motor wise?
jonny500:
i dont have major experence with kx500 (i am rebuilding 1 now) from what i can gather the the big problem is the con rods snaping, so defo renew it with some thing good, not wiesico (made in china now). kips mod on here looks easy and worth doing, pm kawrider hes got some speicial bolts. i am having my crank dynamicley balanced by criss applebee engineering, i think vibrations are the big killer with big bore 2 strokes so that should help, also using oem gudeon pin as it is lighter than a wiesico pin but still using the wiesico piston as it lighter that oem and with the window mod its lighter still. i am hoping that by reducing vibration, and mass from the piston end of the conrod it should reduce the load on the con rod. all the above is found from this site, just though i would save you some time and let you know what to look for
all the best

Thanks John, that helps, didn't know about the rods breaking, looks like the original in mine. I think Hot-Rods make a kit, are they any good?
Hard to believe wiseco are having stuff made in China!? Surely they must knoew better.
