Reed Valves?
kawdude:
All,
I need to replace the reeds in my bike and I'm wondering what is recommended.
I don't want to spend the money on Rad or Vforce assemblies. I just want replacements for the stock ones.
Do any perform better than another?
Paul:
Carbon Tech or Boysen Power reeds. The carbon fiber ones from Carbon tech will favor mid top end power and the ones from Boysen will favor the all around riders.

Ok, Thanks! Those were the ones that I was considering. I noticed that those are "two stage" reeds. Does that matter or will I need to change jetting after installing.
Is there a specific length of time that a reed lasts?

While we are on the subject of reeds, I have a few questions. Is the RAD valve worth the money? Has anyone tried it with the Moose torque spacer or should I just use the Moose spacer and install FMF torque reeds. And yes you guys are awesome!!! just replaced the fork seals and bushings on my 99K5 with help for this site. Also finishing rebuild on my sons 99KX60 with info from this site (centering crankshaft etc) Keep up the excellent work.
