Keep it going as best you can! There needs to be more completed KX500 rebuilds out on the dirt, and less builds still sitting in the garage being rubbed with a diaper! :-D(ode to ferris beauler's day off, remember the farrari :-) ) I am as guilty as the next man though....
As I sit here at my work desk pretending to be busy writing manuals but really looking on kx riders, two guys on dirtbikes just flew by on the snomobile trail outside the shop!!!!!!!!!! bastards! It's frickin 20 degrees outside!!!  Can't blame them though, I should be out there too!! work sucks!

Couple new pics. Had a friend TIG the worn down spot on the subframe where the chain wears on the subframe. I wanted to mock it up and check clearances before I sent the subframe to the powder coater. What do you think?

1989kawasaki:
you should weld a thin steel plate the the subframe so the chain will hit that

Can't weld steel to aluminum.

Motorrad:
I have a thin piece of STAINLESS STEEL. rivited (with stainless rivits). to the subframe..

Looks pretty, doesnt rust.  and protects the subframe.. as one nice property of stainless, the more you rub on it, the harder it gets...
