Finally got a video of my AF in competition

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3XgYbVK8a90&feature=related

It was our local event in Cornwall 2 weeks ago. The KX can be seen 2 minutes into the clip.

Off to Harewood in Yorkshire next weekend.

grin Way cool mitch, I like the crisp sound of the K5, the accelleration is impressive.

That's how to do a video.  No nonsense, video right off the line.  No video of set up or getting ready.  Looks like a fun ride.

I Should have changed down to third for the final bend. Seems a bit flat there, but it is steep.

 Hey Mitch,
It looked like you were doing great, Thanks for taking the time to report back and sharing your video,
seeing the old girl competing and doing well against the pack makes us all look good!  Like Danger said, you can see the
difference in acceleration of your bike compared to the 4T's.
Good on Ya Mate!   Looking forward to the next video-- and podium!

Cheers Tuck
I think my podium days are long gone, we may have the accelaration over the 4t's but they are quicker on the gas and easier to ride.

Gonna keep trying though.

Nice... The 2 strokes were definately faster off the line!
Looked like you had the most acceleration by far, and carry nice speed on the sweepers, if the throttle transition was smoother on the 2 strokes, you'd have them beat easy I bet

Kept the KX at home for the last event of the season recently and had a ride on a 650 Husaberg, was going well until I lost the front in the Top 10 run off. Signed off for 6 weeks so far with a broken collar bone.

Lot more entertaining "Hill" than Barbon, I like it.

The course climbs 350 feet in 1/2 a mile. As you can see we race against the clock, so you can loose out by 0.01 of a second, and you only have yourself to blame when you make a mistake.

Gearing I was using there was 15/38 but still had to start in 2nd, 1st gear was too much, as you had to change into 2nd on that right curve after the start and we banned tyre warmers years ago. You can usually do a burn out to warm the rear tyre, but this track does not allow burn outs, so that's all done on cold tyres.

The tracks are all different over here, but all on tarmac, it's proper name is "Speed Hill Climb"

That cool. I did a similar race on a gravel mountain road. Course was 7 miles long, 4000' vertical. The only vehicle that beat me was an alcohol powered dune buggy. I could have used 2 more gears - never thought about gearing when I showed up at the race. Good video. Cam.

PS heal up fast. I have broken both sides of mine

6 weeks since the fall now, just started to drive again.

Private tarmac roads 7 miles long are rare in the UK, even 1 mile is hard to find, but they are trying to change to law on the mainland so we can close the roads and race on them.

My dream would be to pop over to the US and do Pikes Peak.

Still looking for a decent KX Mitch - so far they're all miles away or want silly money.
Kicking myself for dithering on that one in Cornwall I mentioned to you at Wiscombe.
Appreciate you bearing me in mind if you come across one ?
Cheers.
