Universal kickstand
tschisi:
Hi!
I?d like to buy a kickstand for my cross-bikes, but not a specific one.
Recently there was a thread, i think it was a rebuild-thread, that a universal kickstand was shown in.
I can?t find this thread anymore, but the kickstand was mounted with a clamp directly to the swingarm, so you could use it for every bike.
Can anyone tell me who builds stands like this?
thx

For 50 buck more you can own the best.

I've had mine for years. 6 years to be exact. Divide $160 by 6 and that's $26 dollars a year. The only problem I have had is when the bolt came loose. The way it's made the spring put the bolt in a bind when the threads came out of the hole. I have no idea when the bolt backed out but I was on the long loop trail and that takes 2 and half hours. I noticed it loose when I got back to camp and went to put the stand down. A dab of blue locktite, screwed it back in and no problem.

You might be thinking of my rebuild thread. I am using the Moose clamp on stand. I've been happy with it. It's not the prettiest, but it works well for me. I haven't had the bike fall over on me yet, which is more than I can say for the factory stand on my Gasgas. That thing has fallen over more times than I can count from the kickstand stabbing into the soft ground.

I would love one myself but the price has always kept me away. Seems far too expensive for something so simple. I just carry my triangle everywhere.
