No, I'm not getting ready to ramble off some dates of interest.   wink A friend saw a show about Kawasaki and how the production of their motorcycles came to be, on Discovery Channel. There was lots of interesting tid bits of the show that he remembered, but forgot the name of the show. Anyone catch it? He recalled that they went with green mainly because the other colors were taken as they were one of the last to start making bikes. (previously making boats?Huh)At the time green was supposed to be bad luck for motorcycle racing, so they went for it, basically to debunk the myth. The color green they chose was "9 parts yellow to 1 part blue"      ........9:1
Anyone see the show or know the name of it?

If it's the same as in holland, it's Twist the throtlle!
They show the history of a motorcycle company and how they produce a bike. Verry cool program.
Waht I've heard, that the motorbike division started as a hobby of Kawasaki's son. Only is has become a bit more grin

I have dish network and have been recording it when it is on. The show is called "Twist the Throttle" on channel 364 HDTHR  for hd theater. I've seen Suzuki, Yamaha, Kawasaki, and Alpinestars/Bimota.

I saw the Yamaha one but no others. The Yamy one was cool and I am not a fan of Yamaha at all.

I love that show. I think I have seen them all. I'm hoping for a new season or something. It seems like most of the manufactures got their start after wwII. Ducati made radios in Italy, we bombed the factory so the nazis could not use the tecnology. After the war they started making scoots. Lucky us. We also hit the Ferrari plant hard, they barley recovered. I get a kick out of that cool old history.

kawasaki started with boats, but during ww2 made all kinds of things. the green came from superbike, not sure guys' name, but remember reading they wanted a bike to stand out at a new track in cali. the mechanic went down and got the green at paint place. after that it stuck. not sure of the year but i think mid 70s.
