Garmin Rino 120 GPS unit.

I just bought a Garmin Rino GPS and I am going to mount it to my handle bars. I have a desert tank on my 1999 KX 500. Do I have to buy a special mount so it will not hit my gas tank? Also do I have to buy any maps to use this while riding at Croom in Florida or Bluff Creek in Iowa?
