Reed cage question.......

MX455:
On my 87' k5 I pulled the intake boot. I then noticed an arrow on the reed cage and it was facing down. Is this how it should be? I would think any arrow would face forward or up depending on its application. I called a couple shops around here but no had an answer. So I'm now doing what I should have done in the first place, ask the experts. Thanks guys! :-D

According to my clymer manual it says it faces down. I initially thought it should face up as well so I looked it up.

I bought my 04 KX500 brand new and was the only person to work on it, and the reed cage arrow pointed down, I too, thought that was odd and wondered if the factory made a mistake. But I now am convinced the arrow points down.
