Case half?

BasketCase:
Will the left case half from a 2001 fit my early 90's engine?  Mine is broken near the sprocket from the chain braking and piling up between the sprocket and case.  The bike is a 91, the engine is not the original.  It does have the KIPS system.

I would only use as a "Set" .
