suspension adjustments

(1/2) > >>

tschisi:
Hi!

Can anyone tell me the standard adjustments for a 1990 k5 (already usd fork)?
I know that i have to adjust it when riding, but i?d like to start from standard settings.
I also heard they are mostly set for 75kg people, which is pretty much the weight of my carcass...

thx

JustinSB:
The way to do it, is to set all of the adjustments to the middle of the range of adjustment. Then ride, make one adjustment at a time starting with what feels to be the most wrong and go from there.

tschisi:
Is it possible that the adjusting screws or damper oil comes out when i turn the screws completely out to check the range?

Are you sure the middle of the screw range is the standard setting?
On my crf it isn?t...

JustinSB:
Unless you crank the hell out of any of the clickers, nothing bad is going to happen. I don't think the absolute center is the standard setting, but it is close enough that I don't want to go out to my garage to look it up.

flyingfitz:
Clymer says 8 compression, 10 rebound. The total range is 16 for each.
