Many parts from later models fit the 86, stand alone parts include powervalves(86-88), rear shock(83-86),plastics(85-86),and the frame(84-86).ALMOST everything else is interchangeable.HTH.

Forgot to mention seat(84-87), and sidepanels(84-87). But nobody's perfect.

I would like to put one of the quieter spark arrester silencers on from pro circuit but they dont list one for my 86 kx500.  Kwakman you know if they would fit the 86 pc pipe on my bike?

should do mate. as far as im aware, fmf and pc silencers are same diameter.if u want me to measure diameter on my fmf powercore, let me know and you can compare it to your pipe. I,ve spent a lot of time finding out wot parts from later bikes fit, so if your struggling, gizza shout.hope this helps, kwakman.
