Leaky head gasket

I've been having a problem with a leaky head gasket.Tried the fiber Cometic it leaked from the combustion chamber to the water jacket.I have a stock  metal gasket on now and its leaking externally from the water jacket to the outside the cylinder.I put on the metal gasket dry.Should i be applying anything to the gasket before installation?I possibly over-tightened the head nuts from an inaccurate torque wrench.Would this over torqueing cause the leak,even if only slight?

The head is more than likely warped. I use spray gasket sealer on mine but a lot of people smarter than me use nothing. Over tightening the studs didn't help but if they are not stripped it is probably not your problem.

Or there is some aluminum material around the base of head studs that are the high spot. Install the head with out the head gasket and see if you can look thru the gasket surface. Does this cylinder have a iron sleeve.

Cylinder was re-plated last year,on the build afterwards it did not leak

When it comes to sealing, my favourite is hylomar.
Fully heat and gasoline resistant and easy to work with.
I used it for both head and "cylinder-gasket?".
Anyway, i wouldn?t take it for a carburetor...
