Rode a cr500 for the weekend..... uh oh

I definately agree with you on the "eats gas twice as fast as a CR500". Don't know why but I really have to watch the gas when I'm out on my K5 on a long dune ride.

Oh yea the gas mileage is a huge issue on my bike. In an hour and a half my bike burnt a half tank maybe little more. In the same time and same riding style the CR burnt about a third of a tank. Pretty big difference IMO. Just a rough estimate but at that rate i could ride my KX500 for about 2 hours 45 minutes to 3 hours. The CR would have went 4 hours 30 minutes. That is a lot when your out in the woods 20 miles and you need gas to get back.
And that's not just an estimate cause my uncle is the best woods rider i have ever seen in my life and he says he gets 4 hours to a tank rippin a$$.
kaw rider:
I thing you need to do a complete overhaul on the bike.
95formula847:
whats the average cost of a complete overhaul

Those of you suffering from poor fuel economy, are you at stock jetting?
My jetting is leaned out, and I am running a 165 main, and needle clip leaned out 1 position from stock as well, and I did some fun 60 mph logging road blasting this past weekend, and was averaging roughly about 22 mpg. My 500 ran perfect all day. Just my dam feet got so footpeg "buzzed" from the excessive vibration....
oh yea, I lost some bolts as well, luckily nothing serious..
