Hello,
I would like to introduce myself as the newest KX500 Junkie. I have to be truthful here, I am only interested in the gut wrenching torque achieved by this monster. I am unable to ride dirtbike due to my lack of skill and my overwelming desire to light the wick everytime I get on something motorized. I had a tree jump out in front of me in my early years and I shattered my femur which put me in traction for two months.Subsequently I had to retire from dirtbike riding and gave on my future Motocross career. HaHaHa HaHa.
I grew up on three wheeler's and became quite well at MX on them and hill-climbing. I naturally progressed to the quad because of some d**ned government mandate which would not allow the Japanese to build these for the U.S. The way I looked at it, it was a way to thin out the gene pool. Sorry to those of you that are P.C.
I then found myself riding all types of quads and loving the "Couch on Wheels" as I steadily progressed in years and in weight. To make a short story long I was laid off from TWA after 911 and found myself thinking I would like to open a Motorcycle shop. I started selling GasGas, out of spain, and MZ, from Germany. I truly loved the GasGas it was the almost the perfect quad.
I have been riding them now for about 6 years and still have a couple even after selling out and retiring from Motorcycle sales and service. I found out that if you truly like motorcycles and ATV's and like to ride them, don't start a retail business. It ate all of my weekends and any other free time I ever had.
Now on to why I am here. I have a GasGas Wild H.P. 450 which is a great machine. It was the first fuel injected ATV and dirtbike out there. The problem is they are maintenance monsters and quite expensive to buy parts for, if you don't own a dealership. So I have started mocking my quad up for a 86 KX500 engine. I did this after riding a friends, YFZ 450/KX500 powered, quad. From the first moment I lit the wick I was like a heroine junkie, I was hooked after the first hit.
You probably are asking yourself why I chose the 86 500 engine. Well, I read a few posts in this forum and you members said the 86 had a tremendous hit off the bottom because of the two port powervalve. I like to be scared of what I ride so I respect it. I believe this will achieve what I am looking for. After I get it finished I will post pic's of the beast for all to see. I reallly enjoy this site for it's information and humor. I like sharing my passion for something with other people. Thanks for allowing me in.
