89 motor worth putting in an 99 kx250?

my idea is to keep my 99 kx 250 that is in great shape and use my 89 kx 250s engine as a donor.  is it a simple swap? worth it?

  my personal opinion would be to not use an older motor.  i would look on ebay or something like that and find a newer engine to put in the bike.

Is your 99 engine that bad off ? it will probably be less effort to fix your 99 engine.
