gas tank question

whats up bro's question?? does anyone know if a 1986 KX500 gas tank is the exact same as a 1995 KX500 gas tank. mine has a crack in it. if anyone here has a tank to sell please let me know

I don't think so. The front mount is different, there are 2 screw holes for the radiator shrouds. I also think where the seat hooks in is different. What year is your bike, '95 or '86. I have a tank from an 86 I am getting ready to ebay. Is in great shape.

Ain't gonna fit. Get an IMS. 3+ gallons and you can see your fuel level.

Puh, get a Clarke. Less money, more capacity and better fit and finish. Manny and Rick will tell you different but they don't buy thier own tanks :wink:
