87 k5 kips question

anybody tell me how difficult it is to inspect the crankcase part of the kips? the cylinder part is working perfect as i just had the cylinder redone but the bottom part is not moving the rod. guessing its cuz the top was siezed up for so long when i bought the bike. any tips or help would be appreciated.

also does anyone know if in fact the plastic gear is stripped or broke, if a metal one is available?

just wanted to take minute to thank site member (wicked 500) who saw a kips govenor assy on ebay for my bike and sent me a pm. It arrived in the mail today and i plan on installing it this weekend. Thanks again!
