Hello from Down Under
« on: June 27, 2009, 03:13:36 AM »
Hi everyone, been lurking for quite a while and thought it was about time I said hi.
I picked up my bike a little while ago.  I was told it was a 94 but I think it might be a 93.  Overall it is in pretty good condition and goes hard.  I need to sort out the jetting though - drinks fuel like a top fueler.

Red dirt = West OZ ? Where abouts in Australia are you ? Im in Perth, WA.

I bought my first KX500 (2001 model) earlier this year - NOW I don't enjoy riding enything else anymore. Current project is Motor & g/box rebuild, 80% complete at the moment. Gotta YZ400 as a backup but there's just no comparison.

Below is how the beast looked AFTER I bought but BEFORE I rode it. From the PO, quick service at a mate's in Kal, then straight out the trailer - in Lake Douglas Kalgoorlie & Widgiemooltha  :-D

Cheers,
H.

Hi KXTC - Nice bike, looks to be in really good nick!
I'm on the other side of the country to you in Mildura, Victoria.  Lots of red dirt over here too.
Yeah they are awesome to ride especially if you've got the room to open them right up.  Gets a bit scary doing big speeds along those barbed wire fence lines though.
Been a few 500's for sale in WA recently that I saw on tradingpost.com.au  Asking pretty big prices though.  People are starting too see the light :-D
Let me know the next time you are going for a ride - I'll probably see the roost from over here

Cheers mate
