HELP!!!!!!!!!!!
kaw rider:
Was the plug wet or dry. Did you spray alittle fuel down the spark plug hole. If you have some spark then it should do something.
flyin9:
it sounds like you have the three things you need to run an engine. air, fuel, and spark! if you have those you should be able to run an engine right... nine times out of ten! is your spark timed? no matter how good your spark looks if it is not timed then you are F----ed, make a mark at TDC on the flywheel, using a DIAL INDICATOR in the plug hole, then attach a paper clip or a wire of some sort that will not move to the frame lined up with the mark on the flywheel. check your timing, if it is not 0 to 12 BTDC then you need to look at the flywheel and timing key, (roughly i have had a few DR. PEPPERS while working on my new ninja 600) anyone please correct me if you have some specs. if that does not work, please let me know and ill work on more troubleshooting

tharden:
Your crank seals could be going bad. They will not alow the crankcase to build pressure and send air and fuel in the right place. You also could have a sheared flywheel key.
alward25:
Have you checked your reeds? A fluttered or broken reed will give you nothing. If you have fuel, spark and compression, it could be a bad reed. I have had bike run with a bad crank seal on the flywheel side. It ran bad , but ran. The clutch side seal just puts oil into the crankcase and smokes and fouls out. If you did not touch your mag, I would not think it is ignition related, unless you unhooked something. I would still check my reeds, improper fuel metering will cause all sorts of problems, the biggest, not running :-o.
Good Luck
wreck-n-roll rik:
Pulled the carb adn cleaned it and look in at the reed but did not pull them. I spent the morning tinkering and re-ohming everything. Have the B/Y to B/W intermitten ohm reading to hold it is slightly out of rang at 270 adn the manual cut off is 230. Now for the fun stuff - I wanted to pull the the fly wheel but the prevous owner/s must have tried - the thread are all stripped out, can't even thread in the fly wheel puller in. Now how do I get it off? I can pick up a new stator and coil tomorrow. Coil tested good but I plan to just replace it.
