wreck-n-roll rik:
What Luck I have.  First big week-end and the bike is dead, so I need some help.  1st I took it out last Sunday for a ride and ir ran great.  On Tuesday I gor a set of Kev. Clutch Plates and installed them and water pump seal/bearings and Kick Seal, Wed. put on new rear tire, sprocket and brake.  Went to start it adn it fired adn died.  I have checked everything I can think of.  Shows good spark, new plug, compression is 155+ adn yes there is gas I even went and got some strting fluid and nothing.  I took the Fly wheel cover adn checked adn everything is tight.  What else can I check?  I even pulled the bike behing the car to roll start.

Does it make any sounds of life when you try to bump start it? Sounds like it does not have a spark then. Check the connection of the spark plug and the plug wire. On my 125, the plug wire connection was damaged, so it would show a spark with the plug out. But it was not getting a spark with the plug in.

I used an inline spark checker and it showed good spark with the plug in.  It sounds like it does not have a spark at all.  Is there any way to check a coil?

tharden:
You need to pull the plug out.  A piece of carbon could have got stuck in between the electrodes.  Spark plugs are cheap so I would just buy another one.  Then I would look at the fuel.  If you have water in the fuel or just bad fuel that can cause a problem.

Changed plugs - Fresh gas still same problem.  So I stripped the bike back don and started Ohming every thing.  OFF the Stator the wirees are B/W, B/Y and R/W.  According posting there should be 153-230 across the B/W & B/Y I have 190 but only for the second I cross then it goes dead.  R/W & B/Y is 7.9 to 11.9 and mine holds 10.2.  THe casing the wires are n was full of water so I'm drying out and rechecking in the a.m.  I baught a fly wheel puller today and plan to pull and clean everything...  THe coil seems okay.  HT to blacl .29 and black to ground 2.92.  Kill switch tested good.  Any thoughts on the numbers?
