Forks, Springs & Shock mods!
alan:
How about you guys educating me on fork springs and suspension mods? I ride open desert and dunes and I weigh 210. What springs and what else do I need to know?
Alan :D
Paul:
Alan, I was about that weight when I had mine done and I can tell you this much. I run the front spring for that weight (.46) and I run a one step lighter rear spring (5.4). This combo made the bike very balanced feeling when screaming across the desert. The valving was done by Randy at Motoworks and while I don't know what he did, i do know it's a cadillac ;)
When i take it to the track I run 7WT in the forks and medium in the rear, Maxima zero drag fade free of course
KXcam22:
Paul,
How hard is it to change the shock oil? I should do it sometime. I have the tools and ability, but no 1st hand exp. yet. What oil do you run? Thanks. Cam.
Paul:
I run Maxima, either 5WT or 7WT. 7WT on the track, or in the dunes, big air time  Changing fork oil is easy - as long as you have the level tool you'll be fine. I think there is a fork HOWTO around here somewhere, if not I'm sure we can - and probably should - get one together and posted.

Where's Rick?
He might consider doing oil changes/Recharging shocks for folks.
