"B" designation on kawasaki pistons

<< < (2/2)

Rick:
I have used both ProX and Wiseco with good success.  Ironically, the only piston I have ever broken was a stock unit.  Fortunately, low RPM failure, so no damage.

Opt for either unit depending upon availability and price.

Good Luck

Rick

Biggreenmonster:
I think the "B" is for a larger piston to take up some of the side clearance on a worn cylinder..its just to tighten things up...Am i right guy's?
I use Wiseco pistons/best pistons in the world...they are a work of art!!

doordie:
My opinion is use the Wiseco!
Better, much lighter and give a better throttleresponse :D
You get cracks in the orginalpiston below the wristpin inside the piston.
When you buy a new piston campfer the piston-ends at the skirt, you got better oilfilm inside the cylinder if you do that.
How many of you desertriders drill a boosthole in the piston?

Biggreenmonster:
never drilled port hole for KX500....but i had several CR500's that i drilled relief holes in the piston in line with the exhaust port bridge to carry extra lubricant.
I am curious about the boosthole though!
