how much is this worth
gwcrim:
Get your self an Ebay account. You'd probably have more money in it getting it to run than it's worth.
BTW......... Hello from sunny downtown Steubenville.
tharden:
If the bike was given to you put it back together. You will not loose from the experience, and knowledge you will learn when you work on it. I am sure your step father's brother probably would like to see it run again too, probably bring back some good memories.

My step dads brother gave me this bike in pieces and it was his sons bike. His son was in the middle of doing something to the motor but he was killed in a motorcycle accident. The cases on the motor are split but not taken all the way apart, I'm not sure if he was in the process of putting it back together or taking it apart? I live in Youngstown Ohio though to answer that question.

given this very saddening story..i wouldn,t want it just for that reason ,
but its for the same reason an item worth restoring and to be ridden on ...
Jopiz:
Go for it. Restore it. You wont probably get what you spent on it when you decide to sell it. But K5 is a K5 and it always has some sentimental value.
The guy who gave it to you probably wants to see it running sometime.
