« on: February 22, 2009, 05:30:14 PM »
G'day i have a problem with my

1999 KX250

I have to replace the sprocket shaft seal and was wondering if anyone could do me a favour and post pics of how to do it out of a workshop manual?

Would be very appreciated! Cheers and safe riding

its an easy thing to do,
pull the sprocket off,
if there,s a small spacer behind it ,take that off too.

insert a small size woodscrew in the seal, maybe at 2 spots opposite.
pull the screws with the seal out ,clean the area.
and then gently put a new one back .

Oh cool thanks. I've ordered 2 little collars aswell. Will i need to use these?

Will i need to use some kind of glue to seal it?

Thanks,

i wouldnt, it would just make it harder to get out next time you need to change it. just take your time and tap it in flush and it will seal up fine.

from the inside oil passes by the seal ,it should atleast .
but the outside is better off clean and dry.
but if it,s fitment goes better with, use some acid free grease ,
and clean thoroughly the surface off the seal outside
