What premix ratio do you run?
BDI:
Fat would mean more fuel then air. when you go up in altitude the air is less dense so the air fuel ratio changes. more fuel then air is FAT less fuel then air is LEAN. Lean causes detination and burned up engines, rich/fat causes pore performance and fouled spark plugs.
bigbellybob:
FAT on top of causing pore performance and fouled spark plugs. also runs HOT and can lead to over heating and all the problems that come with it.
as for the mix i run 40:1 in my big bike and 32:1 in the small bore bikes 50-100cc.
azdirtrider75:
I used to run 32:1 but just switched to 40:1 My 2002 KX250 seems to like it
Albertan:
Yamalube 2R at 40:1, no problems riding on MX track or offroad. I agree with other posters about pinging at 6500 feet being a bit strange, especially if jetting is ok at lower elevations.
Motorrad:
40:1 on the K5 Avgas
36:1 all my old air cooled bikes
60-80:1 on my trials bike
Run Royal Purple two cycle oil now...
