Tire width

(1/2) > >>

martinfan30:
I searched and wanted to reply, but it was a 6 year old thread.

I notice stock rear is a 120. Not much room to go wider. Maybe a 130, and some 140's might fit.

Current is Dunlop 739's. Whats a good choice for desert sand and some single track? I am familiar with the MT21's that I run on the XR650. Even thought of the TerraFlex's.

Input?

Friar-Tuck:
Terror-Flex would be  MX model,  The Big-un is only in 18",your KX is 19". (unless Prev Owner swapped out 18" rear wheel)
I had TerraFlex on my CR and loved it.  I could really feel the weight slogging around at higher speeds, that was not a comfy feeling.  I would like to go 18 myself and TerraFlex. That was the only tire that the 500 didn't destroy, (for Me).
Next tire change I'm gonna have balanced.
I still have a Kings Tire something that came with mine when I bought it, so I'll be looking for a new rear soon also.

Good:
I was wondering about the Interco Teraflex just yesterday.  Are they good?  I think I'm sold on the M5B, but this poses an option.

Friar-Tuck:

I read lots of good stuff about the M5B, Interco makes a 19" http://www.intercotire.com/tires.php?id=24&g=2

If I can't swing an 18" conversion this spring I'll order the 19" interco and report to you all.
If the compound is the same as the 150 they should be good playriders/singletrack.
Rich, a safe bet would probably be the M5B by IRC.  http://www.irc-tire.com/mce/
There are so many to choose from ....

DoldGuy:
Just mounted a new M5B (Knobs dont look as big as they used too/Changed Molds??) on the K5. These are a Great Tire for Soft Terrain conditions (just be careful on Hard Pack, they let go with out any warning).
