I took it easy during the day Saturday & met up with Throttle Junky & his Crew for the Super Cross that evening (he had the best seats in the house / Thanks TJ). Went to the concession to buy the first round for everyone & after 20 minutes was informed they only will sell 2 at a time  angry. Enjoyed some great racing in both classes (even though I was not even close on my prediction) and meeting the boys from the Bayou & after listening to some stories, sounds like they like to have lots O fun (I could get in trouble with them evil)
Hopefully next year we will have warmer weather to play in and some more members heading down.

Hey DoldGuy, it was a pleasure to meet with you.   Thanks for the COLD BEER.  Next year we'll have to include a m/c ride. Maybe ride down to that restaurant @ Ponce Inlet you were talking about.

Getting back from Daytona was tough enough riding that Vulcan. (That upright seating position kills me.)
It was even tougher at work to get back up to speed.  Take five days off and come back to a whole different world.

As DoldGuy already said, this year's Daytona Bike Week was on the cold side.  Didn't wear shorts or short sleeve shirt the whole time.  I actually kept my thermals on the entire trip.

Flat Track racing was action packed.   It was held at the Speedway this year.   Now you don't have to travel out to DeLand  to watch the Flat Track events.  Why didn't they think of this idea years ago.

RoadRacing was good and Supercross was even better.  GREEN on top of the podium in both classes.  The only real racing to watch during Supercross was the battles for 2nd, 3rd, 4th place and back!!!

It was great BenchRacing with you, DoldGuy!

Okay its that time of year again & hoping for some great weather that Rooster said he will have waiting for us (Some of them Margaritas Too?). They AMA Schedule is all over the place this year & trying to determine which races we will be able to get to.
Any other members heading down (or up for you lucky ones) to Daytona this year?

Doug,

As we know the AMA and DMG split the racing up, moving Supercross to the first weekend of Bike Week. In the past we could go down there for four or five days and see Flattrack, Supercross and all of the RoadRacing.  It was GREAT!
This year, to see all of those races, one will have to stay for eight or nine days.

I was going down on my regular schedule, Wednesday  thru Sunday, and miss the Supercross that was moved to the first weekend BUT after watching the very first Supercross race this year, I changed my mind.  NO WAY will I miss Daytona SX.  I made the decision  to miss the roadracing weekend instead.   It was a tough call but I couldn't get down there for that amount of time.

Anybody going to Houston SX on 2/12?  We'll be there tailgating in the parking lot before the races.  Let me know if your going.   This is an open invitation for anyone from KXRiders to stop by our diesel pusher for a beer and a bite!

Should be leaving tomorrow morning to head South  grin to the Pomised Sunshine that Rooster will have for us. Weather here is not to bad but looking forward to riding the Street Bike & taking in some of the racing / shows.

Throttle Junky I assume you are already there & once we get into town will try to hook up with you & the Crazy Bayou Boys for a Cold One.

Anyone else heading down this year?
