dsrtrider:
quick questions:

1) i forgot how many links the chain has since i had removed a few links.  Currenly its 144 so it must be 166 or 120 ???
2) i hate the mushy front brake and have heard you can mount a kx250 brake line so its like a honda.  Anyone have photos or can you tell me what year kx250 brake will work and what brackts to use?
3) what fork and shock springs are you bigger riders using?  I weigh 220 -230lbs with gear
4)  what is best way to add a flag whip mount to the fender or frame to go with the axle bracket i have now that always bends if not supported from the top?

thanks for any help.

Dsr,
I recall stock is 118 for the chain.  I was able to get excellent braking with the stock line. I used better pads (DP carbon fiber) and a 1992 honda cr250 brake lever. It has a slightly different leverage ratio and gave me one-finger front brakes. Plus it is a nicely shaped shorty lever. Choose the best DOT4 fluid you can buy, motul or similar.  Bleed it well - you can also take the caliper off and tie it to the ceiling before bleeding but I never had to do that (my new 450 definitely- bleeding it sucks!!)  I am about 230 with gear and I ran .46 kg/mm in the front and the stock in the rear.  There are many posts and photos with flag mounts on the site. Do a search.  Hope this helps. Cam.

In these pics you can see the flag mount I use. It mounts to the sub-frame and comes out between the rear fender and silencer. The flag smacks the back of my helmet sometimes on landings and I have to watch it when hiking my leg over the bike but I have not broken a single flag since I have been using this mount.  I used to use the axle nut mounted one and seemed like I broke the flag all the time just falling over. I dont know the brand or where to get one since it was on the bike when I bought it but at least you can see what style I strongly recommend.

I use a steel C.B. antenna with a big spring.  Never bent or broken the antenna but I did bend the spring on the quad when I rolled it.
