Gonna buy a K5 with Jadoul kit!

Dutch-K5 Fan:
Its a 2001, BUT!!!!!!!!!! In Europe they imported the KX500 till 2000 :-o

Where to look for :? :?


Serial#   must be E 1 if I'm correct.

Any suggestions?????

Dutchie, are you asking where the serial/VIN is on the chassis? If that's what your asking it is on the right side of the head stay. Turn the bars to the left and viola. I'm thinking you already know this though.  :?  I think I'm going to need one of these  :oops:. '01 KX 500 VIN should be JKAKXVE1?1A030001 and up. Hope this helps.

Thats wy I'm a bit confused. What I found that the 10e number or letter is the year.

Works first with ABC..........Y
A=80
G=86
M=92
Y=2000

Then its on with numbers   
1=2001
2=2002   and so on.

On my uncle's K5 is the serial#  KX500E007750.   Its from 92.

Maybe Euro and US have different number systems :?.

If the bike is oke, its not a big problem. Just wanted to no some info to bring the price down :-D

Well, you are quite right then. The Euro and US numbering is totally different as all of the US machines in 2001 and 2002 start with JKAKXVE~. The engine numbering is KX500BE~.
I hope everything checks out. It looks like a decent bike.
