Pipe hits radiator hose

Platypus:
Is it normal for the pipe to hit the radiator hose?  I don't want to be 20 miles from camp and lose all my coolant.  I tried and tried to adjust it to get some clearance but no luck.

Mine ran really close to the pipe. I tie strap a thin piece of rubber to the frame behind the hose and lightly tie straped the hose to the frame.
