couldnt you just put it on the other side so it didnt stick out for safer setup

js, if i mounted the flagholder on the other side it would stick out the same amount. if i flipped it over it would get into the seat. MADDOGGY

Question for you.... did you use the existing bolts in that location? 

Or did you have to find some slightly longer ones?

i used the exsisting bolts, however the stock length is barely long enough. i plan to replace the stock ones with some new bolts 1/4" longer. i can't find any bolts that are washer flanged like the stock ones so i may have to weld a washer on and do some precision grinding to get that stock look.   MADDOGGY
