Sorry about the short intro, I?m a 37 year old male married W/child. I have owned only one road and a few dirt bikes. The only bike I currently own is the K5. I bought it because I started ridding the sand a few years ago. The kdx was not quite powerful enough, although the KDX was way easer to ride on most of the trails around my house (tight, rocky, rooted single track/4 wheeler trail). My 500 skill has increased enough that I can ride it as fast as I could the KDX.
The bike is an 98 mostly stock I had someone port it last year, FMF silencer/spark arrester, tall seat, Ims foot pegs, flywheel weight...
I want to race the SIDRA Desert series in Southwestern Idaho this year if I can find time. If anyone could share there thoughts about SIDRA that would be great. I have never raced, and rarely get out of third gear. The trails I have to ride close by are not preparing me for Desert racing, but what the heck it sounds fun.
