I road the bike yesterday and today, and what a machine.  I stopped at the Street and Trail shop near by and was told that it would not hold a candle to the CRF450.  I asked him if he ever road a kx500 and when he said no, I told him he needed to ride one for himself to find out; and that does not include my bike.  This is the best dirt bike purchase I have ever made and love the sound of the engine.  I am thinking of taking of the kick stand for safety reasons as I do not what it to drop down while I am riding it even though the spring seems strong.

Good job on the 500.  I ride my buddies KTM 525 and my 500 will beat the piss out of it in more ways than one.  4-Strokes have there place, and I like to ride them, but as far as all out performance a 450 will not even come close anywere but a track.  Looks like a nice bike.
