fluffy:
89 500  170 main 60 pilot 4 on the needle. kn filter. i took the filter off and there was oil film in the runner,a couple of small puddles of gas in the mouth of the carb. plug is always black but bike starts pretty good run good but doesnt scare me like i thought. premium gas spectro 2x oil at 40-1. yz 250 seems pretty close in take-off but not top end. help

If it does not scare you something is not right. Your jetting sounds faily rich on the pilot and needle setting.

The jetting chart and jetting thread will help you imensly to fine tune your machine.
