Gnarly of Fatty?
mjscore:
I'm thinking of changing my Pro Circuit pipe to either a FMF Gnarly or Fatty. What are the differences in performance? I usally ride trails and I am going to race in Hare Scrambles. Is it worth changing from my Pro Circuit? I am also going to install the V-Force reeds and Moose torque spacer.
Paul:
I had Gnarly on my CR500 and the thing was like a John Deere, atleast I thought so until I got the KX500 with VForce Delta II, Reed Spacer, flywheel weight, and FMF Fatty. This thing could tow a house and at any rpm range
I think Destry races all his stuff with the Gnarly on his 500. I know the Gnarly is a more bottom / lower mid pipe and the fatty is a more overall pipe. My next pipe is going to be the Gnarly.

I have a Gnarly pipe on my 01 KX5 and it does have lots more bottom end toque, Love the way it works! Also the Gnarly is made of heaver material and will take more abuse! That's why I chose it along with the torque curve. I also have a reed space installed What a combo!
