89 flywheel work with newer ignition

I have a 1989 kx 500 flywheel will it work with my 1995 kx 500 motor.

 89 is smaller diamiter and diffrent timing curve and wiring varations

kaw rider:
so that means that i would have to put a 89 stator and cdi box on it to work.

stewart:
yes if the stator bolt patern will work
