Took me six years to change my mind and adapt the pointy fender, but only took minutes to make the change.  Great instructions I really appreciate you taking the time to post the pics and instructions.
I always thought a company would pick up on this and make some bolt ons, but no need now as this is so easy.
 Thanks again, John.

Check out mine, small tank, 2000 year 250 plastics and subframe mods.

The tail pipe is the next for modifications.

I did the mod on my 02' and loved it until I mounted a Baja Designs lighting kit. The weight of the tail light cracked both sides at the seat bolt holes. Did I undercut too much off or is it just not stout enough with the mod to support the weight?

Great mod I love the look of my 250 rear fender and for those who like the updated look of the 250 fenders the front fender off of a 03-07 kx250 will fit on the kx 500 all you have to do is use a 3/8 drill to barely make the holes bigger so you can reinstall the metal grometts but the holes are a direct line up and the fender looks great.

Yeah I know the gas tank color doesn't match the UFO plastic but I am about to take care of that and thanks again for the mod on the rear fender.

By the way I used a jigsaw and sawzall to trim my rear fender it worked perfectly

Just an old guy that enjoys going fast, I was in the army for 6 years and bought my first K5 when I returned from basic training. I raced a yz60 from age 6 to 8  a kx80 from 8 to 12  a kx125 from 12-17 intermediate class on k5 which I've owned 3.

The 09 and up 450 front fender fits too and I think looks the best.
