Plastics Question
« on: April 04, 2007, 07:24:04 AM »
What years side panels and radiator shroud will fit on an 86 kx125? My project is going nicely and the plastics are shot except for the tank...I have found the fenders but Maeir, UFO and Acerbis  dont seem to have the side panels and shroud. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks!  :-D

I believe that the 86-88 KDX 200 share the same side panels. The 84,85,86 KX 125 side panels and shrouds are the same. The 85-86 KX 250/500 side panels and fenders are the same. Actually, the fenders differ in style between the 85 and 86 KXs though they should fit. Try this place www.onthepiperacing.com They do alot of eighties mx bike restorations and I think they have a nice used set of side panels in stock.
A couple of 03 and 04 KXs, a few YZs, 3 PE 400s, a DR and a TS.

Go for UFO if you can.  Dennis Kirk has the UFO front fender, rear fender and the front numberplate as well.

Call Jericho at 1800-call-tuf. These guy's use to be a UFO Plast dealer. I called them and UFO doesn't make them any more but Jericho said he has a ton of these side panels from mid to late 80's but none of them are marked. He said he could take some photo's of the part and let you check them out. He also said they torn down a bunch of mid to late 80's kx's and he still has new parts lying in their stock.
