Under tank pipe mount

Platypus:
I removed the pipe to inspect the O-rings on my newly acquired 500 and discovered the mount has cracked in half.  Will it be ok to ride a few times before I can get a new one welded on?  I am jonesing bad to ride it this Saturday. Thanks for any input.

I would say go for it (I am not responsible for any damge that my big mouth may cause).  You will find that is a common problem for the kx500.  I rode my bike several times after I bought it and I didn't seem to have a problem.  Of course I then tore it down to the frame and fixed it.

I wouldnt ride it too much. My girlfriends brother had the same thing happen to his 500 and he ignored it. He started breaking the other mounts and the pipe eventually started cracking. The loose pipe also wore a groove in the cylinder where the pipe sits. :-o

You need to do a search on this topic, I recall we have had lots of discussion and pic's of this problem.
