Which yr kx250 vforce3 ?

<< < (3/4) > >>

MadKaw:
don't have any pics, but just did it on my K5.  the v-force was out of my old '01 kx250 and I believe that most of the year models work out about the same, except for the '05 and up. when you unbolt the boot from the reeds and cylinder you will find on the inside of the big rubber boot:

2 rubber protruding wedge shapped pieces that rest inside the stock reeds.
all you have to do is to cut these off with a razor blade down level with the gasket surface. the v-force doesn't have the open cavity that the stock reeds do. so these protruding bits won't go. you'll see it immediately if you have them in your hands. the spacer won't have any effect on this procedure.

Oh, and I used a thin film of the red high temp. silicon on all the mating surfaces to insure no vacuum leaks.

its really an easy deal.....have fun...MK

This is from their site. The instructions are for the 250 but I think you'll see what MK was talking about.

Thanx for the intelligent replies guys.  I get it! :-D  I'll be picking up some soon.

kaw rider:
are the 250 reeds thicker then the 500 reeds.

MadKaw:
no, but the air boot for the 500 has a bigger air cavity
